Sweat Boy 2.0

I apologize to everyone who has called and we haven't yet called back...this week's normal hectic-ness was compounded by Taylor starting daycare #3. She is adjusting pretty well, minus one boy. He is the same age as she is, but has 2 older brothers. He apparently thought that he could play with Taylor like they "play" with him. The daycare lady told me that she was working to get him to play nicer, and that they had some rough patches where Miss T was inconsolable, and things were much better on Friday. Which is good, because I was ready to find daycare #4 when I dropped her off on Thursday. It killed me to watch Taylor freak out and scream as this little boy crawled toward her. But again, the daycare lady has reassured me that things were so much better later on Thursday, and they even played together happily on Friday. So....I'm keeping my eye on the situation, and chalk it up to the fact that everyone must have their 'sweat boy'.

We also became the parents that love cracking up at the things we can do to our child. Here we are at Buffalo Wild Wings on Friday night. Taylor sat for almost 10 minutes with this thing on her head! Please note, the side of the basket says "DUDE!"

I'm not sure which part of this picture cracked me up more: holding on to the railing for dear life during her morning nap, or the fact that Monkey has been flattened...he is clearly not going to make it.

Here we are demonstrating the importance of baby-proofing your house. Never mind that if she pulls on the plate itself, it will probably fall out of the wall. We have a quality built home.

The New Pool

Things I have learned from Taylor's new pool: a) Never ever blow it up myself again. Use the stupid air-pump that we own..in the garage...10 feet away. 2) Let the sun warm up the water a little before putting your kid in it.

Much happier when she's not cold.

I've mentioned before that Taylor likes to wake up and sing & play in her crib. We usually just let her play until we are able to get her ready. Here's an example: (By the way, we did lower the mattress so she won't jump out!)

When the mouse is away, the cats will play.

We are currently 'between daycare', and Taylor can't get in to her new place until June 16th. To help us out, my parents have had Taylor at their house all week. It has been very odd, and I just about didn't know what to do with myself on the days that Andy taught. In case you were wondering (you were?!)....

Monday we went to see the new Indiana Jones movie, which was the first movie we have actually attended since T was born. What a bust. My review of the new Indy - 1.5 bullwhips out of 5. It makes "Temple of Doom" look like "The Departed".

We came home from the movie to find 3 inches of standing water in our basement. It's probably good Taylor wasn't with us; Andy & I filled up the shopvac 4 times & the mop bucket 3 times. Thank you, house, for that gift.

I kept myself busy on Tuesday putting mulch in the flower beds, thinking that it would help the appearance, and also prevent Niagara Falls downstairs again. It did not. It has rained here every night this week, and we have sucked out the basement every night.

Wednesday we golfed. I won. Big. I should have put money on my game. But, let's not dwell on that.

Thursday I cleaned until Andy came home, and we prepared for "the worst tornado evening since 197x". Blah. No tornadoes. Just more rain. And more shopvac-ing. Thank you again, house. We love you.

What did little Taylor do all week? She went to the zoo, went to an old-lady church dinner, visited the lovely metropolis of Pratt and ate a Pizza Taco, and even hung out one day with Joey & Sam!

I pick Miss T up today at 3:30ish....we are going dehumidifier shopping and then heading home to play with Andy. Forget cleaning, being a mom is much more fun.

Yeah! Basketball!!
Oh my gosh. It sits up by itself!
Did I mention she can crawl?
